I LOVE You
A few years before I turned forty, I decided that I was going to really celebrate that milestone birthday. So I had a poem written for the occasion, and a few weeks before the day had it published in the local paper with an invitation to an open house. Yes, I threw myself a huge party. Our whole town was invited. It was amazing.
I also found myself pregnant! That was totally unexpected and in fact, made me consider cancelling the big party I had planned for over two years. But I just grinned and bore it and I had a terrific party and then 3 months later I had our seventh child.
It is interesting how life tends to repeat itself. My oldest daughter had her fourth baby two weeks ago. Today she turns 40! Here is her letter to all of you out there who are willing to grant a birthday wish. It is an amazing and beautiful request. It is so Jodie!!
